Most people look by town rather than county. These are the Minnesota cities with the most listed businesses — each is the address the business gives in public records, not a claim about how far it will travel.
We track 45,877 state-listed electricians in Texas, Washington, Minnesota and California — yours may already be listed. Create or claim your free profile and get quote requests from homeowners in the counties you serve.
Minnesota electrical permits come from the Department of Labor and Industry, except in a city or township that runs its own electrical inspection, which handles the permit itself.
Minnesota licenses electrical contractors at the state level through the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI), and DLI inspects electrical work everywhere in the state except where a city or township runs its own electrical inspection. DLI’s electrical inspector lookup lists each city and township as “State”, where the permit is filed with DLI, or “Local”, where the city or township handles it. Minneapolis and Duluth are both listed as State.

We’d rather show the gap than pad the directory with names we haven’t checked. How we verify
