What we text, and to whom

We send one kind of text message: a homeowner’s request for electrical work, to a licensed electrical contractor who agreed on a phone call with us to receive it by text. Homeowners submit requests through the quote form on this site. We telephone licensed contractors serving the homeowner’s county, read them the request, and ask whether they would like it by text. Only a contractor who says yes on that call receives a text, and only for the requests they agree to receive. We do not text homeowners, and we do not send marketing or promotional messages.

How you opt in

Verbally, on the call, when we ask this — word for word:

“Would you like me to text you the homeowner’s details at this number? If yes, Nearby Electricians — that’s COMNIO LLC — will text you each request you agree to receive. Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, reply STOP at any time to stop or HELP for help, and the terms and privacy policy are at nearbyelectricians.com/text-messages. Is that a yes?”

Only a clear yes enrolls you. Before anything is sent we record your business name, the number, the date and time, the request it concerns and the name of the person who asked. That record is kept for as long as we hold your listing and we will show it to you on request. Your first message confirms your enrollment.

Frequency, rates, and how to stop

Message frequency varies with the requests you agree to receive; most contractors will receive a few messages a month or fewer. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to cancel — you will receive one confirmation and nothing further. Reply HELP for help, use the contact page, or email ross@nearbyelectricians.com. Opting out of texts does not remove your listing or stop requests reaching you another way. Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
